Frequently Asked Questions

Here you’ll find answers to the questions we are asked the most about becoming a donor. For any other questions please send us a message and we will be happy to provide you with answers.

Why choose to work with Graceful Conception?

Both donors and recipients can expect to be treated with respect, compassion, and consideration. Our emergency line is available 24-7 for any urgent concerns you may encounter. As a donor you will find that we go out of our way to make sure you know how appreciated and special you are.

What if I have trouble meeting with the agency during regular business hours?

No problem! We keep unconventional hours for just this reason. We are available during regular business hours, as well as evenings and weekends for your convenience. Most of our initial interviews and consults are done over the phone, we are happy to accommodate your schedule.

What qualifications do I need to meet in order to donate?

Donors should be compassionate, healthy women between the ages of 21 and 30. They should be free of STDs, genetic diseases, and illegal drugs. Additionally, they should have a high school diploma or further education. It is also important that the BMI be in the normal range for the medications to work properly.

How long does the process take?

The matching process could take anywhere from several weeks to several months…or more. The cycle lasts about three months from the time you have been matched until your retrieval. This does not represent active time but rather from start to finish.

Will I have to give myself injections?

Yes, you will have to administer a variety of medications to yourself over the course of the cycle.

Will egg donation affect my ability to have children in the future?

No, the human body produces more eggs than one could ever use in a lifetime. You will continue to ovulate every month following a donation, just as you do now.

How will I be compensated?

You will set your own compensation. (We recommend $8,000 as a first time donor). You’ll receive $200 after completing the initial clinic/doctor visit, $550 at the start of the stimulation medication, and the remainder immediately after retrieval.

Will I meet the recipient?

That is completely up to you and the recipient who chooses you. We absolutely advocate open donations and will facilitate a meeting if desired. However, if either you or the recipient wishes anonymity, we will be very careful not to reveal any identifying information before, during and after the cycle.
